Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun - KJ Membership
KJ Membership
Synagogue membership is an entitlement for every Jew, and KJ is committed to making membership accessible to everyone.
We welcome your participation in the KJ family no matter how extensive or limited. We encourage you to take advantage of all that KJ offers, even before joining. Our weekly prayer services, educational programs, special events, youth and family activities, volunteer societies, etc., are open to all regardless of membership status.
Nevertheless, the reality is that great synagogues like KJ are great in part because of the support that they receive from the communities they serve, and we therefore want to at least remind people of the option, and the benefits of becoming a KJ member:
First, KJ Members pay nothing for their High Holy Day seats (1 complimentary seat for a single adult household, and 2 seats for a married household). Non-members pay dearly for seats, and are accommodated in the few seats remaining only after Member needs are satisfied.
Second, KJ waives the pricey Facility Rental Fee when a Member household celebrates a lifecycle event. For example, your infant's Bris or Simchat Bat, your tween's Bar or Bat Mitzvah, and your adult child's Aufruf/Wedding, are all FREE when held at KJ.
Third, KJ charges a higher amount to non-members for catered Shabbaton dinners and the like.
Lastly, KJ membership dues are completely tax deductible.
If this sounds enticing, perhaps KJ Membership is for you!
