Danielle, a social worker of The Jewish Board, is available to the KJ community as a result of the Partners in Caring (PIC) grant funded by UJA‐Federation of New York.
She offers individuals and families belonging to KJ short-term supportive counseling, information, and referrals. She provides confidential consultations on a variety of matters pertaining to personal and professional transitions (i.e. unemployment, illness, bereavement, caregiving, divorce, and retirement) as well as life challenges (i.e. elder abuse, domestic violence, lack of financial resources for food and shelter).
Additionally, Danielle works with groups, co-facilitating bereavement support workshops with Shira Felberbaum, LMSW, MS in connection with Chanukah, and Pesach. Danielle is also a frequent guest speaker for the KJ Lunch and Learn series that takes place on Wednesday afternoons. She is also in the process of developing a within-the-community Bikkur Cholim program.

Coping with the Empty Chair at the Seder

After a loved one dies, holidays can bring to the surface painful reminders of the loss. Participate in a meaningful gathering to explore ways to allow for grief while preparing for the holiday of Passover. Facilitated by Danielle Herbst, KJ's Licensed Social Worker from Partners in Caring. Rabbis will be in attendance and offer words of comfort and inspiration. Please RSVP here by Monday, April 3.
